Rape suspect nabbed in Angeles City
ANGELES CITY –– Policemen from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) intelligence unit arrested a man with pending cases for three counts of rape and child abuse during a manhunt operation Sunday (June 6).
In a statement, PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon identified the suspect as Archie Siongco Lagrimas, 23, of Barangay Tabun here.
De Leon said Lagrimas is the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge April Joy Magsayo-Aguila of the Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 61 on May 16.
The court recommended no bail for the three counts of alleged violation of the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 and P200,000 bail for alleged violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The city police here assisted the regional operatives in arresting Lagrimas, who was detained temporarily in Camp Olivas pending his presentation to the court.
