Active COVID-19 cases in Ilocos Norte down to 350, more recoveries expected

LAOAG CITY— The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Ilocos Norte is down to 350 after health authorities recorded 68 recoveries on Saturday, June 5.

The provincial government said that “more [patients] are expected to be discharged in the coming days.”

Twenty three new cases, however, were added to the province’s COVID-19 tally, while a 68-year-old woman from San Nicolas town succumbed to complications of the viral illness.

Laoag City has the most number of active COVID-19 infections with 124 cases so far.

Ilocos Norte had registered a total of 2,811 COVID-19 infections, of which 2,421 recovered and 40 died since the pandemic broke out in 2020.
