Rescuers find body of Hinoba-an town mayor’s security officer off coast
BACOLOD CITY – The body of the security officer of Hinoba-an town Mayor Ernesto Estrao was found some 8 kilometers from the shoreline on Friday afternoon.
Rescuers found the body of retired Master Sgt. Dakie Dacoscos about 2 p.m. June 4 off the Hinoba-an coast, Estrao said.
Dacoscos was aboard his pickup truck when it was swept away by a strong current at Barangay Bulwangan, Hinoba-an, on Tuesday night. Reports say Dacoscos was trying to cross a bridge when the engine of his vehicle suddenly conked out and was hit by floodwater.
Dacoscos was with his wife during the incident. His wife was found alive on Wednesday.
Dacoscos, who is from Dingle, Iloilo, had just availed of the police optional retirement program two months ago.
He was formerly assigned in Hinoba-an where he met his wife.
