OLONGAPO CITY –– After 14 straight days of recording at least one death related to COVID-19, this city got a reprieve Thursday (June 3), an official said.

In his daily advisory, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the city logged zero fatalities that day, which kept the death toll at 104.

At least 20 more patients had also healed from the viral disease, bringing to 1,682 the total recoveries.

This reflected an 81.25-percent recovery rate out of the 2,070 confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since last year.

But Paulino said 29 additional infections were also registered Thursday, bringing to 274 the active COVID-19 cases.

The youngest among these fresh cases is a 1-year-old boy and the oldest is an 80-year-old woman. INQ
