Delos Santos, Carolino rule USP-F Run
ZAMBOANGA’S multi-awarded runner Mary Grace delos Santos and Davao’s Joebert Carolino dominated the 12-kilometer race of yesterday’s University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) Alumni and Friends Fun Run held at the USP-F Lahug campus.
Delos Santos, the reigning Milo National Marathon champion, clocked 51 minutes and one second to rule the women’s race while Carolino finished in 40 minutes and 56 seconds to top the men’s category.
Second to Delos Santos was Christy Tutor, who finished in 51 minutes and 47 seconds. USP-F’s Joeyry Lee rounded off the top three female runners with a time of 52 minutes and 11 seconds.
Bonifacio Monjas trailed Carolino for second place with a time of 41 minutes and five seconds followed by Southwestern University’s (SWU) John Philip Duenas, who finished in 41 minutes and 45 seconds.
In the 6k category, Kenyan Abraham Missous and the youthful Lovely Fe Andrin emerged victorious while Jorry Ycong and Jhean Andrin topped the 3k category.
In the 1k category, Kurt Tabisay placed first in the men’s side while Szen Aldobar topped the distaff side.Seventy-six-year-old Rening Ylaya was named the oldest runner while four-year-old Princess Villamor was the youngest runner./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
