Tarlac cops nab murder suspect in hiding for 5 years

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– After five years in hiding, police on Wednesday arrested in Bamban, Tarlac, a man wanted by a Bulacan court for murder and frustrated murder cases.

Col. Renante Cabico, acting Tarlac police director, identified the suspect as Bienvenido Maningas, 56, a tricycle driver.

On July 22, 2015, Judge Gregorio Sampanga of the Malolos Regional Trial Court Branch 78 issued a warrant of arrest against Maningas for three counts of murder and frustrated murder with no bail recommended.

The police tried serving the warrant at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Sacdalan, San Roque, Bulacan, but he had gone into hiding.

Recently, Bulacan police learned that he was in San Roque. After coordinating with the Tarlac police, a joint manhunt operation was conducted that resulted in the arrest of Maningas. INQ
