MANILA, Philippines —  The 10 p..m. to 4 a.m. curfew in Metro Manila Metro amid the COVID-19 pandemic will remain, Metro Manila Council chairperson and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said Friday.

Olivarez said that while the MMC is open to proposals to shorten the curfew hours, the current setup will remain amid the general community quarantine (GCQ) imposed in Metro Manila until June 15.

“Open naman po ang ating MMC pero until na tayo ay nasa GCQ, mananatili yung ating curfew na 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.  ‘Yan ang huli naming pinag-usapan,” Olivarez said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.

(The MMC is open to such suggestions but while we are under GCQ, the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew hours shall remain. That’s what we talked about.)

“Kasi itong ating GCQ will last until June 15, titingnan natin at magkakaroon ng assessment muli yung ating mga data na nanggagaling sa [Department of Health],” he added.

(The GCQ will last until June 15 and after that, we will assess the data that will come from the DOH.)

The National Capital Region Plus — which includes Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, and Rizal—will remain under GCQ with restrictions from June 1 to 15, President Rodrigo Duterte announced earlier this week.
