Blessed John, SHS-AdC nail first wins

BLESSED John and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) nailed their first win in the men’s under 19 competition of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Blessed John was handed its first win on a silver platter after the Cebu International School (CIS) defaulted in their match for 2-0 score.

SHS-AdC A, on the other hand, dominated their sister team SHS-AdC C, 7-2.

With the win Blessed John climbed up from the cellar to fourth place with three points while the SHS-AdC improved to second place with four points.

University of San Carlos (USC) continues to enjoy the top spot in bracket A after a 12-0 demolition of Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI).

USC now has nine points with no loss in three matches.

MTI dropped to the bottom after remaining as the only team to yet win a game in bracket A.

In the men’s open, CrazyHorse will try to solidify its hold of the top spot in bracket A as it faces Subangdaku Football Club (SFC) today.

CrazyHorse has overtaken the Cebu Queen City United (QCU) A at the top after the latter defaulted their game twice in the tournament due to conflict of schedule.

Other matches will have Panalpina going up against Sumaba FC, Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) B facing Don Bosco (DB) Magone FC, AZCO FC versus Uptown United and DBUFC A playing against QCU B. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
