ORMOC CITY—A sea vessel carrying sand and gravel and docked at a private port submerged due to strong waves brought about by Tropical Storm Dante at about 10:58 p.m. on June 1.
According to Coast Guard Ormoc Station Commander Christopher Michael Angelo Dulnuan, all 18 crew members of Jacqueline Star, which is owned and operated by Roble Shipping Lines, were safe.
Dulnuan disclosed that the vessel was safely docked but encountered strong waves.
Jacqueline Star carries sand and gravel to Higatangan Island in Naval, Biliran.
