MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Policemen confiscated some P1,327,000 worth of marijuana and “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations Monday and Tuesday in Minalin town and this city.

Pampanga police’s drug enforcement unit and Minalin police arrested Donald Diego Lumauig, 35, of Project 6, Quezon City during a buy-bust operation Tuesday in Barangay Sta. Rita, Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, Central Luzon police director, said a statement.

De Leon said operatives arrested Lumauig after selling marijuana to an undercover policeman and took the two marked P1,000 bills used during the operation.

The police seized from the suspect eight kilograms of dried marijuana leaves worth P960,000 in the street market.

In Barangay Dau, provincial and city police arrested Aries Austria, 40, and Michael Carao, 30, both residents of Angeles City, during a buy-bust operation on May 31.

Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay, Pampanga police director, said 12 sachets of alleged shabu were seized from the suspects. The illegal drugs weighed 54 grams, valued at P367,200.

He said policemen also recovered the marked P500 and 10 pieces of “boodle” (play) money used in the sting operation.

The three suspects are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
