MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Manila has approved the conduct of limited face-to-face classes in four more medical schools.
These are the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila, Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), PHINMA St. Jude College (SJC), and National University (NU), the government announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Mayor Isko Moreno gave the green light in a meeting with the schools’ representatives on their request to hold limited face-to-face classes for their medical and allied health programs.
“I trust everyone to follow the health protocols. Mas gusto ko ‘yung kayo ang magkusang magdisiplina,” Moreno said, according to the city government.
He also encouraged schools’ representatives to have everyone in their campuses vaccinated once immunization of Priority Group A4 starts.
He also assured them that the city government will give them the support they would need in case COVID-19 infection spreads to their campuses.
“We will make sure that every single cent that you have paid to the city [for your taxes] is fully utilized to protect you from harm and, of course hopefully from this virus,” Moreno said.
“We want to make you feel that Manila is a good place to live in. Mapapanatag ko man lang ang damdamin ninyo araw-araw, he added.
So far, 10 schools have been given the green light to hold limited face-to-face classes including:
