Ex-Cafgu member, 2 others slain in Masbate shootings

LEGAZPI CITY –– Three persons were killed Monday in separate shooting incidents in Masbate province.

Colonel Joriz Cantoria, Masbate police chief, said in a report that when Dominador Limbagan Jr., 43, was about to fetch water from a deep well a few meters away from their house, when three unidentified men shot him in Barangay Divisoria in Cawayan town at 5:20 p.m.

Limbagan, a security guard and a former member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu), died on the spot due to bullet wounds.

In San Fernando town, Albert and Michael, both surnamed Caparino, were killed around 3 a.m. in a separate shooting in Barangay Sowa. The two victims are relatives, the report said.

Cantoria said in a report that while the victims were sleeping, seven unidentified men forcibly entered their house and shot them to death.

The suspects took the two motorcycles owned by the victims and a piggy bank with an undetermined amount of money. Further investigation is ongoing.
