Pampanga cities log 4 deaths, 70 new COVID-19 cases

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga –– Four people here and in the two nearby component cities of this province died Monday, May 31, due to COVID-19, local health data showed.

A resident of Barangay Sto. Domingo was added to the list of 257 persons who died of the viral disease.

The city registered 12 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 5,874. Of this number, 5,168 had recovered from the disease.

Mabalacat City, which logged zero deaths and zero new cases on Sunday, announced in its May 31 bulletin that a COVID-19 patient from Barangay San Joaquin died, bringing to 61 its number of deaths.

It also recorded 39 new cases, bringing to 282 active ones. Of the 3,024 total cases, 2,681 had recovered.

In the City of San Fernando, a resident of Barangay Dela Paz and another from Barangay Saguin died of the viral disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 156.

The capital city registered 19 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. It has 4,837 total cases, of which 504 remained active.

Some 4,177 patients in San Fernando had recovered from the disease.

Data from the Department of Health’s COVID-19 Tracker site showed that Pampanga, excluding the highly urbanized Angeles City, logged 20,882 cases as of May 30. It said the province had 1,880 new cases in the last two weeks.
