SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– More than 20,000 individuals in this province had received anti-COVID-19 vaccines, a local health official said Monday, May 31.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the vaccine recipients belong to priority groups that include health workers, senior citizens, and those with comorbidities.
A total of 19,286 residents had received their first dose, while 4,768 health workers got their two doses and were now fully vaccinated.
Bueno said 24,054 doses of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca vaccines allotted to the province by the national government had been administered to the priority sectors.
Zambales would need to inoculate at least 70 percent of its 590,848 population (2015 census) to achieve herd immunity.
