3.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses arriving in June – -Palace

MANILA, Philippines — Some 3.4 million doses of the COVID-19 from Sinovac, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna are expected to be delivered in the Philippines in June, Malacañang said Monday.

In an online briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the expected June vaccine delivery dates are the following:

  • 1 million doses of Sinovac – June 6
  • 1.3 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech – June 7
  • 900,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech – June 11
  • 200,000 doses of Moderna – June 21

AstraZeneca vaccines procured by the private sector were also supposed to arrive in June, but presidential adviser for entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion said this was moved to July.

Concepcion said at least 2.3 million doses of AstraZeneca jabs will arrive in July and August.

The government said it was eyeing to start the vaccination of essential workers or those under the A4 category by June.  

However, it will first focus on the so-called NCR Plus 8 or Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Cebu, and Davao.   ###
