House insists on Cha-cha before adjournment on June 4

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives will pass on final reading this week the proposed Bayanihan 3 and the economic Charter change (Cha-cha) before Congress adjourns on June 4 amid criticism that the chamber was wasting its time on pointless legislation.

Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte said the proposed economic Cha-cha was “practically dead in the water” as key Senate leaders, including Senate President Vicente Sotto III, have separately shot down the proposal. INQ
