Man found dead with gunshot wound in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A 23-year-old man was found dead with a bullet wound to his head in Subic town, police said on Saturday, May 29.

The fatality was identified as Marco Paolo Alquino, a resident of Barangay Cawag, also in Subic .

A villager discovered Alquino’s body lying face down at a grassy area in Sitio Nagtulong in Barangay Cawag on May 28. He was wearing a black shirt and dark blue jogging pants.

Police launched a hot pursuit operation on the following day against a suspect identified as Ramonchito Dave, 32, who witnesses said was seen in the crime scene.

Upon his arrest, Dave yielded seven sachets containing alleged “shabu” (crystal meth) weighing about 2.3 grams worth P14,950, an improvised hand gun, a loaded .38-caliber pistol, and four pieces of live ammunition.

Police said Dave admitted using drugs but denied knowing or killing Alquino.

Meanwhile, another suspect in the killing who was identified as Madji Jumdani, 47, managed to escape from police.

Dave is now detained and will face charges for murder and illegal drugs.
