MANILA, Philippines — The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Philippines held a “protesta de Mayo,” a parody of the “flores de Mayo” festival held in May, in front of the Department of Education’s office on Friday to highlight the issues in the education sector, amid the “undersupported” distance learning this school year.
Six “Titser-Reynas” dressed in gowns held colorful arcs bearing key issues faced by teachers.
ACT secretary general Raymond Basilio said the six issues and demands by teachers had not been addressed to this day.
