5 drug suspects killed in separate Cavite busts
LUCENA CITY – Five drug suspects were killed when they engage the police in shootouts during separate buy-bust operations in Cavite province, police said.
Police Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, identified the slain suspects as Stanley Laranang, Rodel Lomeda, Josemear Empleo, Clarence Sulat, and Darwin Rodriguez.
A report issued Friday said the suspects resisted arrest and engaged the police officers in sootouts in buy-bust operations conducted in the towns of Rosario, Alfonso, General Mariano Alvares, Imus City, and Bacoor City in the past 24 hours between Thursday and Friday.
However, the police did not provide details on the operations that led to the death of the alleged drug suspects.
Police said three caliber .45 pistols, a caliber .38 revolver, a magnum .357 revolver (all loaded), empty shells, illegal drugs and the buy-bust money were seized at the crime scenes.
