COVID-19 claims 3 more lives in Olongapo City
OLONGAPO CITY — Three more residents here had died of COVID-19 as the city continues to experience a surge in infections.
In an advisory, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. on Wednesday (May 26) said the latest fatalities raised to 88 the city’s COVID-19 death toll.
The latest to die were an 86-year-old woman from Barangay Asinan, a 60-year-old woman from Gordon Heights and a 39-year-old from Barangay New Kalalake.
They all had comorbidities when they got infected with the virus, local health data showed.
In the past seven days, the city had been logging at least one death due to COVID-19 and most of them were elderly residents.
Paulino said 30 new COVID-19 cases were also recorded on Wednesday, raising to 218 the number of active infections.
