MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– From an average of only 32 cases of COVID-19 in the last six days, the number of persons who contracted the viral disease in the City of San Fernando jumped to 72 Wednesday, May 26, data from the city health office showed.
The capital city’s update also disclosed that a resident of Barangay Panipuan had succumbed to COVID-19, while 27 had recovered.
Nine of the new COVID-19 patients are from Barangay Magliman, six each in the villages of Sindalan and Sto. Niño, and five each from Del Pilar and San Nicolas.
As of Wednesday, the City of San Fernando had 621 active cases out of 4,726.
A total of 3,957 persons have recovered from the viral disease while 148 had died.
The city government urges residents to stay home if they do not have to buy necessities or avail of the much-needed services outside.
The city also reminded residents to always observe minimum health standards like observance of social distancing, frequent hand washing, cough etiquette, and proper wearing of face masks and face shields.
The other two cities in Pampanga––Angeles, and Mabalacat––registered 26 and 21 new COVID-19 cases, respectively, Wednesday.
