ANGELES CITY –– At least 2,397 girls in this city have been vaccinated against Human Papillomaviruses (HPV) to protect them from several kinds of cancer, a report from the city health and gender and development offices said.
The second dose of the HPV vaccine was given starting May 17 to girls 9 to 14 years old in 33 barangays. The first dose was injected last year.
In a text message, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said: “protecting the health of women and girls is necessary for the development of the person, their community, and the city as a whole.”
