2 dead, 2 hurt in explosion at DND arsenal in Bataan

LIMAY, Bataan — Two workers were killed while two others were injured in an explosion at the arsenal of the Department of National Defense (DND) here on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Police identified the fatalities as Ricardo Solomon, 40, of Orion town, and Marlon Tatel, 38, of Limay town.

Injured were Macreldo Rodriguez, 57, and Allan Wisco, 36, both of Limay.

Col. Joel K. Tampis, Bataan police director, said the victims were mixing chemical components in making primer for bullets when the explosion occurred.

Tatel died on the spot while Solomon died while being treated at the  DND Arsenal Infirmary.
