Team Summit keeps lead

TEAM Summit kept the top spot by a thread after surviving a challenge posted by a new team anchored by one of the country’s top triathletes in last weekend’s 2nd leg of the Triathlon Team Championship Series held in Salagdoong Beach in Maria, Siquijor.

Team Summit added 57 points to its 1st leg score of 58 for a total of 115, just a point ahead of Rueben Team, which had 114 points in its first outing in the competition.

The team headed by Noy Jopson with Joseph Miller, Tyrone Tan and Rochelle Tan was not able to compete during the first leg held in Dauis, Bohol .

Jopson, who ruled the male elite division, accounted for 55 of the team’s 114 points.

Team Summit was powered by Jose Merdino Lim, Kristian Cabahug, and Loveleinell Casidsid. Their first leg teammate Joseph Larida was replaced by Vincent Raymund Escobido.

Benjoe Gimenez of Sugbu Triathlon earlier explained that this is possible as long as the team registered the member even before the competition.

Team NFYNEAT remained at third place with 99 points. The team is manned by Ralph Arche, Kristiane Lim, Anthony Regis and Mirian Joy Libre. Current fourth place went to Fish 18 Sport with 98 points. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
