MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) is eyeing to cut from 10 to seven days the quarantine period of fully vaccinated returning Filipinos.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat said on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) that the proposal was already brought up with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and will be discussed with health experts.
Puyat said the 10-day quarantine at hotels discouraged Filipinos to travel to the Philippines. “If the DOH (Department of Health) allows to reduce it to seven days … we can encourage more people to come,” she added.
