Woman in Abra fends off rape suspect with bolo
BAGUIO CITY –– A woman in Lagangilang town, Abra province managed to escape from her cousin who attempted to rape her recently, police said on Tuesday, May 25.
A report from the Lagangilang Municipal Police Station said the victim was in the kitchen when the suspect, identified as Erick Collado, grabbed her and tried to assault her on May 22.
The police said the woman, a resident of Barangay Isidro, was able to grab a bolo and hit the neck of her cousin.

Collado was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital and was eventually placed under police custody after being treated for his wounds.
He is now facing attempted rape charges, investigators said.
