3 elderly Tarlac residents die of COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Three elderly residents in Tarlac City have died of COVID-19, the Tarlac provincial government reported on Monday, May 24.

The fatalities were a 72-year-old man from Barangay Sto. Cristo, a 75-year-old man from Barangay San Isidro, and a 61-year-old woman from Barangay San Francisco.

Tarlac City has the highest number of deaths in the province at 96, followed by 40 in Concepcion and 23 in Gerona.

As of May 24, Tarlac City has registered 2,502 COVID-19 cases, of which 1,798 have recovered and 576 active patients.

Tarlac province has 6,555 confirmed cases. Of this number, 1,481 are active and 4,793 have recovered from the disease.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the entire province has reached 281.

Both Tarlac City and the province continue to implement preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, including strict border controls, scheduled disinfection activities, and enforcement of minimum public health protocols.
