2 held for P374K meth in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga –– Operatives led by the police drug enforcement unit arrested two suspects who allegedly yielded some P374,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pulung Bulu here on Sunday, May 23.

Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, Central Luzon police director, identified the arrested suspects as Omar Saumay, 32, and Christian Abasolo, 21, both residing in this city.

The duo was arrested after allegedly selling P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover policeman.

The Angeles City police said operatives confiscated four sachets of shabu from the suspects weighing 55 grams. Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s current valuation of illegal drugs, the seized drugs have a street price of P374,000.

The duo is facing charges for possession and sale of dangerous drugs.

In a separate operation Monday, May 24, operatives of different police units arrested an alleged crime group leader during a manhunt operation in Barangay Sta. Monica, Concepcion, Tarlac.

Pampanga police director Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay identified the suspect as Alvin Gonzales, a resident of Magalang town in Pampanga.

Ibay said the operatives had with them a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Erick Sadural of Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 116 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with no bail recommended.
