2 armed drug suspects nabbed in Batangas
LUCENA CITY –– Two drug suspects, both carrying illegal firearms, were arrested in separate buy-bust operations Monday in Sto. Tomas City and Batangas City, police said in a report.
Anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed Ronnel Larosa after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in a sting operation around 4 p.m. in Barangay Cuta in Batangas City.
The police found in Larosa’s possession a Remington caliber .45 pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun with three bullets, without government permits.
The suspect also yielded three sachets of shabu.
Earlier, around 2:30 p.m., the police collared Roger Durana in another buy-bust operation in Barangay San Vicente in Sto. Tomas.
The police found him carrying an illegal caliber .38 revolver with two bullets.

Veteran anti-narcotics agents say that big-time drug suppliers provide guns to some of their favored pushers for protection, aside from giving them free shabu for personal use as incentives.
