4 kids among new COVID-19 cases in Tarlac

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Four young patients were among the latest to contract COVID-19 in nearby Tarlac province, local health data showed.

In its May 22 update, the Tarlac provincial government said a 1-year-old boy from Barangay Sta. Catalina in Tarlac City was diagnosed with the viral disease on May 21 after developing mild symptoms.

The toddler had an unknown history of close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients and was immediately confined in a hospital.

Another 1-year-old boy from Barangay San Vicente, also in Tarlac City, turned out to be positive for COVID-19. He is also had no known exposure but he developed mild symptoms.

A 5-year-old girl in Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City had also tested positive for COVID-19 and displayed mild symptoms.

In Bamban town, a 4-year-old girl in Barangay San Nicolas was quarantined after contracting COVID-19 without symptoms.

Tarlac province registered 79 new COVID-19 cases on May 22, bringing the active cases to 1,654. Of the 6,446 total cases, 278 died while 4,523 have recovered.

Tarlac City has the highest number of COVID-19 in the province at 2,474, followed by Capas town with 1,130 cases and Concepcion town with 493 cases.
