LUCENA CITY – A 92-year-old man and seven other senior citizens — four females and three males ages 60 t0 88 — have recovered from the dreaded coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in San Pablo City, Laguna, health authorities reported on Saturday.
The eight elderlies were among the latest 26 recuperated COVID-19 patients in the city, San Pablo City’s Anti-COVID-19 Task Force said in a bulletin issued on May 22 at 6 p.m. The latest group of recovered virus carriers also includes a 1-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy.
The authorities have also recorded 15 new COVID-19 patients. Among them are three male elderlies, aged 62, 64, and 66.
The COVID-19 death toll in the city rose to 101 after two female virus carriers, ages 57 and 76, succumbed to the highly contagious illness.
San Pablo, which is now under general community quarantine with “heightened restrictions” until May 30, has logged 3,049 COVID-19 cases and 2,539 recoveries since March last year.
