Gov’t urged to open 24/7 vaccination centers

MANILA, Philippines — A House official has proposed that the government open vaccination centers that will operate 24/7 to speed up COVID-19 vaccination and reach herd immunity faster.

House deputy speaker and 1-PACMAN Rep. Michael Romero appealed to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. to consider hiring more vaccinators to man the 24-hour vaccination centers.

“I believe longer hours of vaccine center operations would address the problem of overcrowding and help guarantee the observance of health and security protocols,” Romero said on Friday.

Romero also backed the suggestion of Speaker Lord Allan Velasco to hire nursing graduates who have not yet taken the board exams as vaccinators for these 24/7 centers.
