MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are expected over the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) and Bicol regions as well as the Visayas and Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Friday.
The state weather bureau said the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers to Legazpi City, Puerto Princesa City, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, among others.
Meanwhile, other parts of Luzon will continue to experience hot weather with chances of isolated rain showers.
“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon kasama ang Metro Manila, patuloy pa ring makakaranas ng maganda at maaliwalas na panahon maliban lang sa isolated na pag-ulan dulot ng thunderstorms,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.
(The remaining parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will continue to experience a fair weather except for isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms.)
“Gayun din, inaasahan pa rin natin ang matinding init ng panahon lalo na sa tanghali at hapon,” he added.
(We are also expecting hot weather especially at noon and afternoon.)
Pagasa said maximum temperature in Metro Manila may rise to 35 degrees Celsius and up to 40 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
