MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is keeping cloudy skies and rain showers prevalent in many sections of the country, from Southern Luzon all the way down to Visayas and Mindanao.
Reports from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) show cloud clusters above the regions, with possible rainy weather over southern Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Central Visayas.
Despite the rain showers, Pagasa said, no weather disturbances like a low-pressure area or a tropical cyclone are being observed so far.
But for northern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila, the weather is going to stay hot and humid as the easterlies from the Pacific Ocean keep blowing.
Temperatures for Luzon, especially the northern side, would remain high, as Tuguegarao is expected to register a feverish 26 to 39 degrees Celsius. Metro Manila would have something around 26 to 36 degrees, Laoag with 26 to 33 degrees, Tagaytay with 22 to 32 degrees.
Legazpi and Puerto Princesa, which would be affected by the ITCZ, would have lower temperatures of 27 to 31 degrees Celsius and 25 to 28 degrees, respectively.
Visayas and Mindanao would also be colder than usual due to the ITCZ: Tacloban and Iloilo would have something between 25 to 31 degrees, Cebu with 26 to 31 degrees, Zamboanga with 24 to 31 degrees, Cagayan de Oro with 23 to 32 degrees, and Davao with 25 to 32 degrees.
No gale warning yet, because the seas will be mild to moderate.
