BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar –– Borongan City Mayor Jose Ivan Agda has received his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Wednesday, May 19.
“I feel safe like everybody else who were vaccinated,” Agda told the Inquirer.
The mayor said setting up a drive-thru vaccination site would help the national government utilize the remaining two million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Agda said he would have wanted to get inoculated with China’s Sinovac vaccine because, according to the people he knew, it had little to no adverse reaction.
“But I have no reason to be choosy at all,” he said.
The city government is also set to open four additional vaccination sites and has earmarked NovaVax for constituents 18 years and below.
