MANILA, Philippines — Pasay City distributed on Wednesday the first tranche of its cash aid to students, with some 3,000 students getting P3,000 each, covering the period from October to December 2020.
In a statement, Mayor Imelda-Calixto Rubiano said city hall had started preparing the stipend covering the period from January to March 2021.
The beneficiaries of the first tranche are students of Bernabe Elementary School, Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School, and Rafael Palma Elementary School, according to Ronnel Arellano, the administrative officer of the Pasay office of the Department of Education (DepEd), who had a phone interview with INQUIRER.net.
All students in Pasay, from kinder to senior high school, will get the cash aid, Arellano said.
The next batch to get the cash aid will be some 6,000 students of Maricaban Elementary School and Pasay City North High School-Tramo Annex.
They should receive the aid by Thursday and Friday.
The remaining 60,000 qualified recipients will get their aid in the coming weeks.
“Some schools are being used as vaccination centers,” Arellano said in Filipino. “So we’re just timing it.”
No distribution will be done in schools that are scheduled to be used as vaccination sites.
The cash aid should be received by the parents of the beneficiaries. They should present a valid ID or a voter’s ID along with the school ID of their children.
Guardians or relatives may claim the assistance, but they must present an authorization letter signed by the parent or guardian of the child.
They must also present their ID or voter’s ID, along with the ID or voter’s ID of the parent or guardian and the school ID of the children.
