Drug suspect slain in ‘shootout’ with Bulacan cops
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan-A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported shootout with policemen in Plaridel town on Wednesday, May 12.
Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, identified the suspect as a certain Alex who allegedly resisted arrest and shot policemen when he was caught selling “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover agent in Barangay Lumang Bayan around 1 a.m.
The suspect was instantly killed when the policemen shot back, investigators said.
An unidentified cohort of the suspect managed to elude arrest on board a motorcycle.
Recovered from the slain suspect were 17 plastic sachets containing shabu, a loaded .38-caliber pistol, five pieces of fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm and the buy-bust money.
