Woman with COVID-19 gives birth in a Bacolod isolation facility
BACOLOD CITY –– A 20-year-old woman with COVID-19 gave birth at an isolation facility in this city on Tuesday, May 18.
The Barangay Estefania resident gave birth to a baby girl at the city government’s Midway Isolation Facility in Barangay Alijis, said Joemarie Vargas, head of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office cluster.
The woman was being readied for transfer by ambulance to the Bacolod City Lying-In and Birthing Center when she suddenly gave birth.
Medical responders assisted a midwife of the City Health Office in the delivery.
The mother and her baby were later transferred to an isolation room at the Bacolod City Lying-In and Birthing Center.
