3 more gov’t workers test positive for COVID-19 in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– Three government workers are among the 14 new COVID-19 cases in this province on Monday, May 17.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said two of the workers are from Subic town and showed no symptoms of the disease. They were subjected to swab tests on May 15 as a work requirement.

The other government worker is from the capital town of Iba. She experienced symptoms of the disease after being exposed to an infected co-worker.

Last week, seven other government workers from Subic town had been infected with COVID-19, Bueno said.

Among other new COVID-19 patients in the province are health workers, a church minister, and employees of private firms in the Subic Bay Freeport.

Also added to the province’s latest COVID-19 list are old persons with ailments and a pregnant woman.

The province has a total of 2,058 COVID-19 cases, and 175 of these are active. At least 1,831 patients had also recovered, while 51 had died. INQ
