CAUAYAN City, Philippines—Three children remained missing as of Sunday, after the tricycle they were riding on overshot a bridge and fell into the Pinacanauan River in Barangay (village) Alicaocao here on Saturday night.

Police said a search has been ongoing to find Precious May Pastor, 4; Sheila Marie Tacloban, 9; and Aldrin Jake Gammad, 2, all of Barangay Mabantad here, who were feared to have drowned when they were swept away by the river current.

Superintendent Amorsolo de la Cruz, Cauayan police director, said the children’s companions—Richard Calimag, Judima Galvan and tricycle driver Tomas Marcos—were rescued by residents in the area several minutes after their tricycle fell into the river at 6:30 p.m. The tricycle was taken out of the river on Sunday.
