No more PNP, PDEA operations at same time, place
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have agreed that their operatives would no longer conduct operations at the same place and time to prevent any “misencounter.”
Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP chief, confirmed on Monday the near “misencounter” last Friday between operatives of the PNP and the PDEA at a mall parking lot in Quezon City.
Eleazar said this should no longer happen after the Feb. 24 shootout also in Quezon City.
The PNP chief and PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva agreed on a unified operational guideline to avoid a repeat of Friday’s incident.
