Deaths due to COVID-19 in Olongapo rises to 75

SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES –– A patient infected with COVID-19 died in Olongapo City Sunday, raising the city’s death toll to 75.

In a statement, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the 88-year-old woman suffered from multi-organ failure and septic shock secondary to severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

She reportedly contracted the virus from her 81-year-old sister.

Paulino said 21 new COVID-19 patients were added to the COVID-19 tally in the city, bringing to 184 the total active cases.

Among the new cases were two health workers, two government officials, and six employees in different companies inside the Subic Bay Freeport.

Other new cases were older residents with ailments and were exposed to their virus-afflicted relatives.

Olongapo has 1,702 COVID-19 cases since last year, including 1,443 recoveries. INQ
