1 dead, 1 injured in Quezon hit-and-run incident

LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle back-rider died while the driver was injured in a hit-and-run incident along the Maharlika Highway in Candelaria, Quezon Friday night, police said Saturday.

The Candelaria police reported that motorcyclist Leo Landicho, 49, and his rider, Laisa Landicho, 43, were traversing the highway when they were hit by a vehicle in Barangay Bukal Sur at around 9:30 p.m.

Rescuers brought the victims to Peter Paul Medical Center at the town center, but Laisa expired along the way.
