COTABATO CITY –– Work in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) here and the local government of Cotabato City was suspended Friday due to the inclement weather brought about by Tropical Depression ‘Crising.’
An advisory issued by the office of Chief Minister Ahod “Al Has Murad” Ebrahim signed by Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua said only offices “directly involved in disaster risk reduction and management, peace and security, delivery of basic and health services, and other vital services shall maintain their operations to ensure continuity of public service in the region.”
Macacua said work suspension in private companies is left to the discretion of their management.
Earlier, the office of Cotabato City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi issued a memorandum circular suspending “all work in government offices and classes in all levels” in the city.
Guiani-Sayadi said the suspension is “due to the severe weather condition that is expected to last the whole day.”
The memorandum, however, said “those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and necessary services and those which pertain to disaster and calamity response are placed under alternative working arrangement and must be operational anytime.”
