Crising weakens into low pressure area

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has lifted all Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals as Tropical Storm Crising weakens into a  low pressure area (LPA).

In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin update, Pagasa said, the center of the LPA was last spotted in the vicinity of Piagapo, Lanao del Sur.

They added that the LPA will continue to move westward or west-northwestward and emerge over the Sulu Sea in the next 6 to 12 hours.

However, light to moderate with at times heavy rains may be experienced over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental today.

Meanwhile, Pagasa warns of the possibility of isolated flash floods and rain-induced landslides during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps.

Adjacent or nearby areas may also experience flooding in the absence of rainfall because of surface runoff or swelling of river channels.
