BACOLOD CITY—The city government’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will start mass vaccination for coronavirus for health workers, senior citizens and those with comorbidity, or aggravating diseases, in 21 villages on Friday (May 14).
City Administrator Em Ang said the mass vaccination will be held simultaneously with the ongoing mass vaccination at the SMX Convention Center and the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.
She said 199 Bacolod residents were given vaccine shots at the SMX Convention Center and 320 at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central on Wednesday (May 12).
Ang said the vaccination launch on Friday would use AstraZeneca vaccines which arrived last Tuesday (May 11).
The vaccination drive would be brought to the villages of Villamonte, Montevista, Handumanan, Mansilingan, Vista Alegre, Felisa, Alijis, Granada, Estefania, Alangilan, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School in Barangay 3, Punta Taytay, Education and Training Center School in Barangay 16, Pahanocoy, Barangay 39, Bata, Banago, Mandalagan, Taculing, Singcang and Barangay 38.
Ang said some barangay vaccination centers will accommodate residents of neighboring barangays.
Ang said the city government wanted to start giving shots to men in uniform, health and other essential workers by the end of May.
