MANILA, Philippines — Some 15,000 more doses of Sputnik V, the Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine, were delivered to the country on Wednesday.

The shipment arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 10 p.m.

This batch is for the second or follow-up dose for the first 15,000 doses that arrived on May 1.

Manila, Makati, Taguig, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa received the first batch of Sputnik V vaccines.

Sputnik V, which was developed by the Gamaleya Institute, should be stored in a dark place with temperatures not exceeding -18ºC.

Earlier this week, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said negotiations were still ongoing for two million more doses of Sputnik V.

The Philippines is eyeing to procure 20 million doses of the Russian-made vaccine.
