2 more Negros Occidental provincial board employees infected

BACOLOD CITY—Two employees of the provincial legislative board of Negros Occidental, or Sangguniang Panlalawigan, had tested positive for SARS Cov2, the highly contagious coronavirus that causes the deadly disease COVID-19, which has no known cure yet.

The infections brought the total number of provincial government employees with the virus to 36.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the provincial board alone now has four infected employees who but there has been no need to lock down its offices.

Most of the sick employees are recovering at the quarantine facility in Mambukal Resort in Murcia town.

The capitol’s procurement services depot, however, will remain closed until 10 of its 15 employees recover from the deadly disease, Diaz said.
