Metro Cebu opens 3 more sites for vaccination drive
CEBU CITY—Metro Cebu has opened three more hospitals as vaccination sites on top of existing ones set up by the private sector and local government units (LGUs).
The private sector-led Project Balik Buhay (PBB) launched as vaccination sites the Visayas Community Medical Center in Cebu City, the Mactan Doctors Hospital in Lapu-Lapu City and the Mendero Medical Center in Consolacion town.
In a statement, PBB said there was a need to open more sites as more people expressed their intent to be vaccinated against SARS Cov2, the highly contagious coronavirus that causes COVID-19, a disease which has no known cure yet..
The opening of three facilities brings to nine the number of public vaccination sites in Metro Cebu.
Cebu City currently conducts vaccination inside Robinsons Galleria Cebu, the SM Seaside City and the University of Cebu-Banilad campus.
PBB, on the other hand, has the Cebu Doctors University Hospital in Cebu City, Chong Hua Hospital in Mandaue City, and Allegiant Regional Care in Lapu-Lapu City.
