Man catches trespasser eating in his kitchen who dies shortly after

In a peculiar home invasion case in Japan, an intruder died shortly after he was found eating inside the kitchen of a 60-year-old man.

The homeowner, whose identity was withheld, reportedly found the stranger when he got up to drink water at around 11 p.m. on May 5, as per YTV via Sora News 24 on May 7.

He found the intruder, who was wearing a shirt he just picked up inside the house, eating frozen pasta on his kitchen table. The stranger appeared to be in his 30s.

“I came from the front door,” the intruder was quoted as only saying when the resident confronted him.

The intruder then suddenly became unstable and violent as he tried to flee, causing a commotion that the resident’s younger brother heard from a neighboring house, the report said.

The younger brother rushed to his older brother’s home and tried to restrain the intruder while the resident’s father, who lived in the same house, called the police.

When police arrived, however, the stranger lost consciousness, according to the report. He was taken to the hospital and died just around an hour after.

Conflicting reports, however, noted that the man was already not breathing when police arrived, according to the news outlet.The case is still under investigation.

Police are still trying to identify the man, but they believe that he is also from the Osaka prefecture, based on his belongings. The cause of his death or his motive for breaking in was undisclosed. Ian Biong /ra
